Making an overseas property investment at the White Sands Hotel & Spa on the paradisiacal Islands of Cape Verde comes with so many delights for you and your family to enjoy. While the fantastic 12/7/5 Property Options offer ensures that you’ll start receiving 12% assured returns from day one of your purchase, the lifestyle benefits of owning your own holiday property in the sun simply cannot be overlooked.

Cape Verde has risen to become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. And while this is of course great news for your investment (there’ll be no shortage of holidaymakers lining up to stay at the White Sands Hotel & Spa when the doors open early in 2019), there’s a reason for the country’s popularity. Not only does Cape Verde enjoy year-round temperatures of between 25°C and 30°C, endless white sands and crystal clear waters – but a thriving and exciting culture to boot.

No matter what time of year it is, there always seems to be a festival going on in Cape Verde. These can be anything from religious celebrations to lively musical events. But, no matter what the occasion, the experience is always exciting, colourful, and, as more and more holidaymakers are realising, not to be missed. Indeed, Cape Verdean festivals are becoming one of the main attractions on the Islands. They’re a big part of what will keep your overseas investment property at the White Sands Hotel & Spa occupied right around the calendar. And since everyone who takes advantage of our 12/7/5 Property Options offer has the opportunity to holiday in their property for up to five weeks every year, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in all the revelry, too.

With so many different events going on, we’ve selected a few of our favourites that you and anyone else who stays in your property at the White Sands Hotel & Spa will be able to enjoy throughout the year.

Cape Verde Carnival

Let’s begin with the most famous festival in Cape Verde – Carnival. Taking place 40 days before Easter each year, there are many local celebrations, but the biggest of all is in Mindelo on the Island of Sao Vicente. This is one of the most colourful and spectacular festivals in Cape Verde. Everyone dons their fancy dress to take part in huge parades, with much dancing, drinking, music, fun, laughter and fireworks going on for days on end.

Here’s a short video of the action from 2017.

Kriol Jazz Festival

Listed as one of the world’s best music festivals by UK magazine Songlines, the Kriol Jazz Festival is held every April in Praia on Santiago, the largest Island of Cape Verde.

The festival attracts musicians from Cape Verde and around the world, capturing the country’s rich and varied musical heritage, which hails from Africa, the Caribbean and Europe. At its heart, Kriol Jazz Festival is a celebration of Creole-inspired music, and has grown from strength to strength since it launched in 2009, now praised worldwide as one of the most culturally exciting music festivals anywhere.

Santa Isabel Celebrations

The 4th of July celebrates Santa Isabel in Cape Verde, the patron saint of Boa Vista – the Island upon which the White Sands Hotel & Spa is being built. The main festivities occur in the capital Sal Rei, where the streets come to life with concerts and parades, with many stalls selling food, drink and handcrafts popping up.

The event attracts Cape Verdeans from all of the other Islands in the archipelago, and there is even horse racing, a beauty pageant, a football tournament and a public ball to enjoy as part of the festivities.

Sal International Music Festival

Sal is Cape Verde’s most developed Island for tourism – but it’s the locals who really know how to throw a party. Held over a weekend every September, the main festivities of the Sal International Music Festival take place on Santa Maria Beach, where Cape Verdean people from all over the Islands come to join the tourists pitching their tents ready for an exciting few days of camping, beach barbecues, bonfires, and great music.

It’s an event enjoyed by thousands, and over the years has grown to attract many international artists as well. The music played is a fusion of various styles, cultures and influences, and one of the greatest spectacles of all of Cape Verde’s many exciting festivals.

Great Attractions Make for Positive Property Investments

The thriving festival culture on Cape Verde ensures that people keep flocking to the Islands in new swathes year after year. And this is great news for your overseas property investment. As tourist numbers continue to rise, the demand for luxury accommodation grows with them.

We’ve picked out just a few of our favourite events on the Cape Verdean festival calendar, but many more take place on all of the Islands right throughout the year.

One of the great things about the country is that, because of the year-round climate, there’s never a real low season on Cape Verde. The locals know this, which is why the music never seems to stop. And since all investors at the White Sands Hotel & Spa have the opportunity to holiday in their luxury property for up to five weeks every year, you’ll have every reason to join the celebrations, too.
